Who we are
Obskur Studio is a creative studio based in Tielt, Belgium. For any questions about your personal data, you can reach us at info@obskur.studio.
What data we collect and why
We keep data collection to a minimum. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or any other tracking tools. Below is an overview of the data we do collect.
Contact form
When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), subject, message content, and IP address (for spam prevention). We use this data solely to respond to your inquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or, where applicable, the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Newsletter subscription
If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use this exclusively to send you updates about our studio and work. The legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or by contacting us at info@obskur.studio.
Performance monitoring
We use Vercel Speed Insights to monitor the performance of our website. This tool collects anonymous performance metrics such as Core Web Vitals (page load speed, interactivity, visual stability). It does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual visitors.
Cookies
Our website does not use tracking cookies. The only cookie we store is a consent cookie that remembers whether you have seen and dismissed the cookie banner. This cookie is strictly necessary for the functioning of the website. Vercel Speed Insights does not set any cookies.
Data storage and transfers
Our website relies on: Vercel (United States) for hosting and Speed Insights, Neon (European Union) for database storage, Resend (United States) for email delivery, and Cloudflare R2 for file storage. Where data is transferred to providers in the United States, these transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Data retention
Contact form submissions are retained for a maximum of 2 years after the last interaction, then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Performance metrics are anonymous and aggregated, not linked to individuals.
Your rights under the GDPR
As a resident of the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@obskur.studio. We will respond within 30 days. If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit): gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
